Fatty liver disease, happens when too much fat builds up in the liver. Normally, liver has a small amount of fat, but when the fat becomes too much, it can start to damage the liver.

- Liver damage (called fibrosis or cirrhosis)
- Liver failure in late stages
Common Symptoms:
Most people don’t feel anything but some may feel:
- Tiredness/ Fatigue
- Discomfort or pain in the upper right side of the belly
How Is It Diagnosed?
- Blood tests (to check liver enzymes)
- Ultrasound or CT scan
- Sometimes needs liver biopsy
What to do for Fatty Liver?
Lifestyle changes are most important:
- Lose weight if overweight
- Exercise regularly
- Eat healthy – less sugar, fat, and processed foods
- Avoid alcohol
- Control diabetes and cholesterol
